Olivia Valentine – First African American Elected to Hawthorne City Council
November 8, 2011 — Veritas Campaigns
Today the City of Hawthorne in the South Bay of Los Angeles County elected its first African-American to the City Council, a woman who was strongly supported by Ginny Lambert, a Councilwoman and pioneer in her own right. Olivia Valentine placed second in the race, securing her a spot on the City Council.
Olivia came from the ranks of the local volunteers, a former Homeowners Association President and City Commissioner, she also brought real life experience from her days as a Federal Prosecutor and Mediator/Arbitrator.
Veritas Campaigns is proud to have known and worked with such a great lady. We wish her the best in her first term, which will likely be difficult due to the political nature of Hawthorne. But we know Olivia Valentine will carry herself with ethics and professionalism rarely seen in local politics.
